Meet Mr. Ikjung Kim, President of WooSung Tech

This week, we’re happy to introduce Mr. Ikjung Kim, from our South Korean distributor WooSung Tech. Read the interview below.

Please tell us a little about your company

Woosungtech was established in 2023. Our main products are workholding parts and mainly steady rests. Our current goal is to increase the share of Atling steady rests in the Korean market.

Who are your typical customers?

As Woosungtech specializes in steady rests, our main customers are Korean machine tool makers. Examples include DN Solutions, Hyundai Wia, Hwacheon, Smec, FFG DMC, Smart Machine Tool Korea, and HNK Machinery.

In addition, we also try to expose ourselves to Korean end-users and Korean agents of overseas machine tools.

For how long have you been an Atling distributor?

I have been working as Atling’s Korean distributor since 2024, which is a little over one year. However, I have 30 years of experience in the machine tool industry.

What, in your opinion, are Atling’s main benefits?

Its clamping range is wide compared to its size and also compared to other brands and each model features the highest level of technology not found in other brands. The most important aspect is the staff at Atling headquarters, who actively provide technical support to distributors. They respond to customer inquiries quickly, so customers don’t have to wait.

What, in your opinion, is most important when choosing a steady rest?

The quality of steady rests is crucial. This includes not only performance but also the quality of the product, such as precision machining and the assembly processes required to produce steady rests. Additionally, the flexibility of the design makes it possible to meet various customer demands.

Anything else that you would like to add?

I feel rewarded when handling Atling products. Atling is currently in the early entry stage in the Korean market, but I am sure it will eventually become the most popular steady rest in Korea in the future. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the Atling team.
